Today, International Burch University in Sarajevo had the honour and pleasure of hosting the Mayor of Sarajevo, Predrag Puharic, who demonstrated strong support for the academic community and the advancement of higher education in our city through his visit. Highlighting the importance of this visit, the Rector of International Burch University, Prof. Dr. Mersid Poturak, officially welcomed Mayor Predrag Puharic in the Rector's Office upon his arrival.
During the visit, Mayor Puharic met with university management discussing current projects, potential collaborations, and challenges faced by higher education. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of connecting the University with the local industry and strengthening university-industry partnerships to foster the development of Sarajevo and the wider region.
The Mayor toured the university campus, familiarising himself with the modern infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories, and expressed satisfaction with the quality of educational programmes and the expertise of the teaching staff. He particularly praised the creativity and ambition of students at International Burch University, highlighting that young people represent the most valuable resource for the growth of Sarajevo and the community.
This visit signifies the continuation of fruitful cooperation between International Burch University and the Sarajevo city authorities, opening new avenues for joint activities in the future.
